"Plinky's Pissed" (F21?): Plinky put in Distorted Tube mode. Sounds best with neck pickup only and playing in the 12th or higher position. A warm, psychotic, swooshy bluesey, gritty, mellow lead sound. Curtis Pastor. INF / MIDI(100) Plinky.syx Midi Sysex data file for Patch #100 GSP-2101 2.01.01 Single Disc Factory Algorithm (21 or 22 I think???) This patch is essentially Phasor in space, but I started from scratch, just goofing around. Plink'sPissed is a variation using the Distorted Tube, which I think has ALOT of character over my cabs (sounds like hell over headphones tho). Turn down the phasor parameters (level, regen, depth) if you start to get motion sickness. I couldn't really set it well since my amp only has one functioning channel these days, and stereo phasors are illusive in mono. The phasor is really just there for added emphasis and character. I have a similar algorithm with the AutoWah mixed in just slightly for extra character, but it can be a bit much at times. Typical Notes: Be aware that the FxLoop may need to be reset for your particular rig. I generally set it to Bypass, but occassionally rely upon outboard gear, and thus have it set to NoSum. This may cause problems depending upon your setup. As always, some minor tweaking may be neccessary for Noise Gate, Master Volume, and Distortion settings, as guitar ouput voltages and impedances vary (and so do tubes for that matter). Finally, all cabinets are not created equal, and thus, you may need to add or drop some high end to get nearly the same sound I hear. I have Peavey Butcher cabs which are rather bright, but I'll let you be the judge. Also, for patches that require User algorithms, you may not be able to load the new algorithm if you are running low on algorithm space. I have found that I have a few algs sitting around in only a single patch that I don't even use! Obviously, I delete these to make room. Also, dual disc users should note that alg space goes right out the door when adding dual algs. I have stopped using dual algs, which is OK with me since all I wanted was the seemless switching anyhow. Perhaps Digitech will increase alg space/memory in the 2101's next-generation replacement. *********************************************************** *********************************************************** *********************************************************** ***** ***** ***** ! ! !
