Patch name: QUEEN (Single S-Disk) The following patch simulates the multi-guitar harmonies as used by Brian May of Queen. It uses the internal CC pedal to change the inversion of the chord. If you have an external pedal connected to your Control One, that will be used to change from Major to Minor chords. Of course if only have one pedal (you should go get a 2nd one you cheap skate), there are other ways to do this listed below. ---------- Step 1 --------------------------------------------- Make a user algorithm with the following modules in it: Programmable Whammy Programmable Whammy (yes you need two) 3x2 mixer ---------- Step 2 --------------------------------------------- Link as follows: Left Input to Whammy _A Inp 1 Left Input to Whammy _B Inp 1 Whammy _A Output 1 to 3x2 Mixer Inp 1 Whammy _B Output 1 to 3x2 Mixer Inp 2 Left Input to 3x2 Mixer Inp 3 3x2 Mixer Output 1 to Left Output 3x2 Mixer Output 2 to Right Output ---------- Step 3 --------------------------------------------- Adjust the parameters as follows: COMPRESSION I don't use it, but set as you please. DISTORTION This patch works real well clean or distorted, so experiment. I use: Heavy Sustain GAIN = 11.0 NOISE GATE Set as you please ANALOG GRAPHIC EQ For a Brian May type of sound I use: 80hz -8 160hz -6 320hz +4 640hz +4 1.28khz 0 2.56khz -2 5.12khz -6 PROGAMMABLE WHAMMY _A PchUP = 7 Tones DtnUP = 0 PchDN = 4 Tones >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> See "CC Links" below DtnDN = 0 Pedal .............Link to the Internal pedal with these settings: Minimum value = 0 Maximum value = 100 Track = 4-8 WhmLvl = 100 DryLvl = 0 PROGRAMMABLE WHAMMY _B PchUP = 4 Tones >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> See "CC Links" below DtnUP = 0 PchDN = -5 Tones DtnDN = 0 Pedal .............Link to the Internal pedal with these settings: Minimum value = 0 Maximum value = 100 Track = 4-8 WhmLvl = 100 DryLvl = 0 3x2 MIXER All levels set to 100% Pan 1 = -50 Pan 2 = +50 Pan 3 = 0 =================================================================== CC LINKS We'll use the Eternal CC pedal, to change the Major 3rd to a Minor 3rd. You can also use "Stomp Box Mode" and assign one of the Control One foot switches to this function. There is a good posting on this in the archive, if you don't know how to do it. EXTERNAL LINKS Link the PchDN parameter of PROGRAMMABLE WHAMMY _A to the External pedal (or your choice of switch/whatever) and set MINIMUM VALUE = 4 Tones MAXIMUM VALUE = 3 Tones Then link the PchUP parameter of PROGRAMABLE WHAMMY _B to the External pedal (or your choice of switch/whatever) and set MINIMUM VALUE = 4 Tones MAXIMUM VALUE + 3 Tones ________________________________________________________________________ That's it kids! This is a fun one to play around with and even if you don't think you'll ever use it, take the time to try it out anyway. It will at least amaze your friends. See you in 5 months.
