Notes:

  1. The minimum recommended voltage required to ionize the display is 160 volts dc. After the display has ionized, the voltage drop is approximately 135 volts. Typical cathode current of 330 µA is assumed.
  2. Display supply voltage should not exceed 200 Vdc when the display is operated with a segment driver of 80 volt breakdown. Higher display voltages are acceptable when resistors or discrete transistors are used for current limiting.
  3. The lowest current for even glow on the b-segment is 130 µA. Currents up to 1.5 times the typical current may be used; however, life expectancy may be reduced by operation at excessively higher currents. For multiplexed operation (time shared), segment currents may be increased to 1.25 mA with 0.25 or smaller duty cycles.
  4. Anode On Time assumes typical keep-alive current and typical anode supply
  5. Blanking requirements are strongly dependent upon the mode of multiplex operation and upon the segment current used.
  6. Keep alive is recommended in all multiplexed applications. Refresh period is limited to 3 msec if keep alive is not used.
  7. Under specific conditions, Cathode Voltage Swings of as low as 30 volts are acceptable.
  8. The combination of Cathode Bias Voltage and Cathode Voltage Swing must be within recommended display supply voltage.
